Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars

As a registered dietitian nutritionist, I care about nutrition and eating foods in whole form. And just like most people, I also care about time and convenience. But first and foremost, I care about taste! My passion is finding tasty, high quality food. I find products all the time that I want to share. This will be the first of many posts that highlight my discoveries. My recommendations will be delicious and almost always be nutritious and quick. There is a lot of junk out there, but I’ll help direct you to the best tasting, highest-quality, nutritious products in a sea of product overload.
One of my favorite products, Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars, are fabulous! This post isn’t sponsored, which hopefully lets you know how much I truly love them. I love ice cream, but these frozen Greek yogurt bars satisfy my craving for ice cream instantly. Yasso isn’t trying to imitate ice cream, they are what they say they are; frozen Greek yogurt bars with 5 grams of protein. They have enough sugar to satisfy your sweet tooth, but are still low enough in added natural sugar (no sugar substitutes or artificial flavors) to avoid sabotaging your health. Most of the bars are 100 calories each, though there are a few flavors (some of my favorites) that are only 80 calories per bar. Most importantly, these babies are real food without any artificial taste. Perfect for dessert!
Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars bars have been out for a few years, but they’ve improved the taste and taken out any trace of chalkiness that they used to have. They can be purchased at regular grocery stores everywhere. No need to make a special trip. Let them sit out of the freezer to soften for a few minutes for more flavor. One way I resist inhaling them is by not biting into them. That way they last longer and I enjoy them more. They’re so delicious that you’ll want them during any season. I hope you enjoy these sweet and nutritious treats as much as I do!

Bare Organic Apple Chips

I found a new healthy product that I love and want to share with you! I'm very selective, so you know it's good if I feature it in my new blog series: "Judes' Market Highlights."

Market Highlight

Oyster October

"Les Poisson, les poisson, 'ow I looove les poisson!" That Little Mermaid song is dang funny even if it is somewhat macabre... October is National Seafood Month! If you're new to Foods with Judes, you will soon find out I have a great love for our underwater friends, both to protect and to eat! Seafood has extremely positive effects on our health and brain function. You can learn more about why this is true, in addition to other clarifying mercury tidbits in a previous article, "Seafood Newsflash." I could go on for days about health benefits of different kinds of seafood, but this month's healthy challenge will focus particularly on oysters. Don't worry - you don't have to eat them raw.

15-Minute Roasted Mexican Soup

I can't get enough of this 15-minute soup. It tastes like it been roasting for hours and it has, but by Trader Joe's and not by you! It’s quick and sooo good. You might be able to find these roasted veggies at other stores, but you will for sure find all the ingredients at Trader Joe's. It's a soup-er healthy, zippy, meal hack. This soup can be left chunky or blended smooth, either way it taste soup-perb. The blended version is perfect for those picky eaters who don't appreciate onions, bell peppers or black beans. Shhhh, they'll never know if you don't tell them. Top it with cheese, cilantro, avocados and/or tortilla chips or don’t add a thing to it. It’s a flexible meal using frozen ingredients that you can keep on hand and made on the spot.
